The kids had so much fun painting their cocoons, and learning about butterflies.

Last week
Monday we did day 3 from week 3 and learned about eating healthy. The kids are so smart I almost feel like we could do more. We sorted healthy food from unhealthy food and Alex vowed to eat just plain apples instead of apples with carmel to be healthier, LOl. We matched letters M through R, made a coloring book with healthy food, counted toothbrushes, and made a playdough fruit bowl. We couldn't resist spending the last 15 minutes outside it was such a nice day!

Thursday we learned about the tooth fairy, day five of week 3. First we played a fun game taking turns to be the tooth fairy and switching teeth for money under the others kids pillows. Then we played tooth fairy where are you? We had a fun art project making pillows for our teeth and played one more game pretending to be the tooth fairy and working on our numbers. The children can count to ten or higher, but when you show them a single number, not everyone knows what that number is. We also worked on writing our R's. We enjoyed a visit from my cute niece Gretchen aswell.

We continued with our transportation week from the lesson and did day 5 of week 1. We learned about trains. We read a Jungle Train adventure story and counted to 6. We also reviewed reviewed our letter P and tried to write it. The kids absolutely loved painting their own train cars. Just a reminder fornext week, Camille will be gone Monday so we're trying for Thursday and Friday.

We celebrated St. Patricks Day early. We learned about the leprechauns, and their pot o'gold over the rainbow. We even went on a hunt to try and find the leprechaun Miss Emily saw that morning. He left behind a trail of shamrocks and even though we didn't catch him, we did find his pot o'gold. The kids loved it and wanted to keep hunting for him the rest of the morning. We also reviewed our shapes and colors. I didn't use any lesson plans for Monday.

Thursday was a lot of fun. We talked about going on vacation and practiced packing a suitcase. We also read some stories about different kinds of transportation. Then everyone made their own suitcase, with clothes. They loved playing red light/green light while "driving" in their cars. I also found out that they all enjoy doing puzzles.

A little bit late.
We missed Owen and James last Monday, but were glad to see them Thursday. We went over colors again. We learned what our primary colors were (red, yellow, and blue) and learned that when they are put together these colors will make purple, green, and orange. We reviewed M, N, O, and P and even tried writing them in upper case and lower case. We counted some green frogs and had tons of fun playing hop, hop, frog (played like duck, duck, goose) and musical chairs. Here are our activities from both days. Here are our primary colors.
Since it's spring, we planted a flower garden with all the colors
Sort the puffs
Frogs and mixing colors. The LOVED making their colors. We took a zip lock baggy, put some shaving cream in and with a drop of two of our primary colors we learned what it would become!

Today was a lot of fun. We did activities from February Week 1, Days 1&2. The kids' favorite activity was painting their oceans and coloring thier sea animals. James was really loving the paint and spent a lot of time making his ocean look great. We played pretend boats and sang a train song. And of course, we couldn't make it through with out dressing up. Everyone put on a costume and we played "Pilot, Pilot, Airplane". When it was Randi's turn she would say "Airplane, Airplane, Captin!" I thought that was cute. Alex guessed the "mystery item" to glue on the letter P, and he glued his popcorn on perfectly.
Just a note, I sing the Leap Frog Letter Factory song with them when we practice our letters. I don't know if your kids watch this video, but it has really helped my kids learn their letters and sounds. Let me know if you would like to borrow it...See you Thursday!

Week 1
Monday was a little crazy but we still managed to learn a few things. Thursday was much easier without the two year olds. We learned that frogs hibernate in the mud during the winter. We reviewed as many colors as we could and made a lot of fun games out of it. We learned our letter N and O and counted up to 12. And we also learned about summer and winter clothes. I enjoyed teaching all your children and am so grateful we could all get together to do this! Here's a little sneak into my classroom.
